Due to the high volume of spam we will ask you to answer these two simple questions:
Our journey turned into a small expedition, climbing 14 peaks in Jawa with a total elevation of about 23 km. All was done independently without guides, porters and chartered vehicles with the exception of some ojeks. We visited (in this order) Salak, Papandayan, Guntur, Slamet, Prau, Sindoro, Sumbing, Merbabu, Lawu, Arjuno, Welirang, Semeru, Raung, Argopuro and still had the time to go to Pelabuhan ratu, Karimunjawa island, Pulau Sempu and mud volcano Bledug kuwu near Purwodadi. Semeru was the only place with western tourists. If you are into hiking http://www.gunungbagging.com has valuable information about most of Indonesia's peaks and volcanoes - approach camps, route-descriptions etc. Thanks again to our great host Tom for the buah Noni juice and a lot more. Cheers!
